Little Higgs Models: New Approaches to the Hierarchy Problem

8/27/2002

33 citations. Conference proceedings presenting an overview of the Little Higgs program.

The Key Idea

Little Higgs models address the hierarchy problem by making the Higgs a pseudo-Goldstone boson of a spontaneously broken approximate global symmetry. The crucial ingredient is collective symmetry breaking: no single interaction explicitly breaks the symmetry that protects the Higgs mass, so one-loop quadratic divergences are cancelled by partners of the same spin. This proceedings contribution summarizes the construction and key features of these models, based on the work in the Minimal Moose and EWSB from Theory Space papers.
